No important structure is taught once and then abandoned. Language returns at increasing levels of difficulty:
- Beginner students meet a structure in a practical situation.
- Elementary students expand it and use it in longer exchanges.
- Lower Intermediate students combine it with new time frames and ideas.
- Intermediate students use it to report, qualify and explain.
- Higher Intermediate students refine its nuance, register and rhetorical effect.
- Advanced students choose it deliberately according to voice, audience and purpose.
Each level and each new term begins by reactivating earlier learning before extending it.
